Mohammed the tour guide

Outside of Marrakech, Morocco are the Atlas mountains. My friend knows a hotel owner in Marrakech. His hotel would be what we consider a 0 star or 1 star motel, but it was nice nonetheless. The hotel owner had his friend guide us on a walking tour up and around the atlas mountains. It was incredible. I loved our guide Mohammed. He was hilarious by his head nods and friendliness. He was about 20 years old, skinny as a rail, and could hike the trails faster than would humanly seem possible. Soon I found that the reason I liked him so much was that he said 'yes' to every question I asked. "Mohammed, is the elevation here about 10,000 feet or so?" "YES!", Mohammed replied. I was having a blast.
Later in the day I asked Mohammed if the small huts that were built around the secluded mountain were the homes of the nomadic Berbers. "YES", he exclaimed while doing his patented fast head nod. I was feeling like an intelligent tourist and felt completely satisfied. That is until I noticed one thing. I said, "wow, it looks like there are satellite dishes on some of the huts. Mohammed, I thought the Berber people lived in seclusion and spent all day creating their works of art such as carpets.
Do the Berbers have television? Do the Berbers watch Seinfeld?"
"YES!", Mohammed exclaimed again.
Something sounded fishy b/c I knew from articles that I read about them that they were cut off from all technology. Something was wrong.
"Do they have a Berber King?"
"YES!"
Needless to say my Mohammed high was dropped to a grudging low after that conversation. We didn't speak much after that, but we did tip him for his effort.
