this is one of my favorite songs and i was a little reluctant to listen because i love the original and in my mind jeff buckley's version is perfection. i just didn't think i'd be able to give you a fair listen....but.......

that being said, i really love your voice!!! you have such a warm, rich tone that really got to me. thanks for posting the link and hopefully you'll post others in the future. :)
  • thanks Coleen :D

    hehe
yeah i kind of figured ppl might be a bit put off by another version of Hallelujah so i was a bit nervous to post it
but thanks so much for listening to it :)

    heheh Justam :)

i was just afraid that i wouldn't be able to give it an objective listen no matter how good it was....but i've listened to it quite a few times now. :) really, you have such a warm and lovely voice.

please keep us in mind when you record in the future. :)

  • yum i love jeff buckleys music
    its so graceful and peaceful
    such a blessed one
    his honesty
is so completely trumpet filled the air
so whats he sound like anyway never heard anything from him
    god bless in jesus name
    ament
  • allison, i've always loved your voice
ever since i d/l'd indifference off that pj-fans-do-covers site that greg used to run...
thanks for putting up the link
i've had "Grace" in the player for a few days now
and i've done a few rewinds on coehn's masterpiece
the lyrics are incredibly deep and sad
    i like how you say

    "IT IS A BROKEN..."

it's a nice phrasing of that line...

the line i'm picking at now is

"all i ever learned from love is how to shoot somebody who outdrew you"....

so, anyway... definitely pop by and let us know when you u/l, k?

thanks so much for sharing it with us :)
    ~all is full of love~

    yay

    i love this song.....
the lyrics just flow so nicely.. they even feel good to sing, if that makes sense
    not sure if it does

and i'll definitly let you know as soon as i u/l another song :)

    thanks so much again!!

  • hey!!!

thanks everybody for listening!! :D yay

the kind of stuff i usually do, my original stuff, is kind of hard to explain.. lol
its sort of like...... piano/vocal based stuff.. like tori amos or fiona apple or something..... but i am a big Pearl Jam fan so there's sort of a bigger rock influence in there.... and there's also a bit of folk in there sometimes which is sort of influenced by ani difranco.... i also love counting crows... and jazz.... and classical....

it's kind of random lol :)

our instrumentation is bass, drums, piano/vocals'

i'll make sure to post more stuff soon and i'll let you know :D

    thanks so much!!!

(btw, right on for writing a book!! i wish i could do that.. i don't have the attention span.. lol thats great!! Leonard Cohen is a great writer to quote :) )
