Said goodbye today
And I'm sure it'll be one
of the sweetest ever (on good terms)
Since I didn't think I'd catch you.
And yeah it's been a while
and it's been strange
and much left unsaid.
Same old things, nervous eyelashes
flutter, lock, twist away
stammering, smiling, idle hands.
Never been a thank you so
subdued but sincere.
And I'm glad I caught you.
Speaking of time off in New York,
well, I know something you
don't, I think.
Hopefully I can catch you again
although it might be a while,
hopefully a long while, if things
go to shit, maybe next fall
if it all works out.
And we can start over.
Since it ended so well.
And at long last the hug,
I've got memories,
the embrace,
and again it was nice to
catch you. Grasp you not too far from where we first did, really.
It meant so much.
Hopefully I'll tell you later. When we can explain things together.
But have fun in New York, it sounds
cool.
