I just saw a man
speak to his dog
as if it were human
on the sidewalk before my front porch.
And I wonder:
does this dog understand English?
For it must not comprehend
the gentle tug on its collar
or the inside of a cage.
Must this man not realize
his dog's bestial desire?
No, I think he does.
Perhaps not the dog's,
but he understands.

As the paws scratch scampering
down my sidewalk
this path of concrete
held in place by my footsteps
I hear a chevron of geese
cawking
and
honking.
Passing now in single file like machine gun fire,
flying through the sidewalk
of their realm.
And I see they need no leash
they need not names,
shadow,
for they can see up
above
beyond
ahead
overhead.
Shadow sees merely his own
in the sunset, down the sidewalk
teaching his owner
how to speak.
Teamwork. Rawk. Pwnage. Infinite Possibilities. YIELD. Hells yeah.

I like this one. The geese flying and crying overhead in their line....the poor dog fighting the ignorant hand at its leash......

    Nice. Well done.
    Feels Good Inc.
