Let the Dust Settle For Good

Just can't seem to get it right
Cant settle a problem without a fight
Instead of turning wrongs to right
Bombs and gunshots light the night

Here we are all prisoners of war
A story this world has heard before
This fragile planet can't take much more
Lots of dents from bodies hiting the floor

We never apply the lessons we've learned
One day we'll have this peaceful world we've yearned for
When we stop pulling triggers and shake hands once more
We can see what the best of mankind has in store

We've seen all the pictures of heroes and prisoners
We've heard all the stories from propagandic envisioners
But the story that would surely spread joy for all
Would be a world without warfare for once and for all

We never apply the lessons we've learned
One day we'll have this peaceful world we've yearned for
When we stop pulling triggers and shake hands once more
We can see what the best of mankind has in store

We can let the dust settle for good
Once we start acting as we should
I tell you we can hang up our weapons for good
Its not just a dream because I know that we could
"I cant hear you, but i feel the things you say"

  • I like the optimism in this Fortunate Sean. :)

Has a whole lay down your arms feel to it.
