Way Back When

Bartender serve me up another glass
I wont be going home tonight
I went down the list of ways to prevail
But it all went wrong. It all went wrong.

On my outside I am strong and smiling
But riptide rushes below my surface
The seas are churning inside my mind
Mixed with green, the color of envy.

I remember back when I had no worries
A child concerned only with the present
Things have changed my friend
The present is the only thing I'm sure of nowadays

I'm just tired of being someones shoulder
Tired of being their advisor
Tired of giving it all away
And getting nothing in return

I've paid my dues
I've waited my turn
I thought I'd get awarded
I guess I have more to learn

Good deeds are never awarded in the end
Just given away to friends
Taken for granted
But someday my supply for everyone is going to run out

Its been a bad night

There was a whole inside his soul a manicure couldn't fill. So he found himself a whore to love while daisies choked in the windowsill. *JK*
