Vedder Fans Raise Funds For WRC

http://ourfuturehasnoviolenceagainstwomen.blogspot.com/2008/08/vedder-fans-raise-funds-for-wrc.html

Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder was in Toronto performing at Massey Hall on August 12 and 13, 2008.

As part of Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam’s commitment to the communities they perform in, the band's foundation - The Wishlist Foundation - held a pre-concert fund and awareness raising event in support of White Ribbon Campaign.

The event, organized by Demetrios , an avid Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder fan, was a huge success raising $925 for White Ribbon Campaign. Demetrios and others donated personal collectables to raffle off at the event.

The highlight, was a one-of-a-kind concert poster signed by Eddie Vedder.

The Wishlist Foundation is a Pearl Jam fan nonprofit, grassroots organization dedicated to supporting Pearl Jam’s charitable and philanthropic goals. Their ongoing mission is to utilize the collective ability of Pearl Jam fans around the globe, to make a difference in the world.

The Whishlist Foundation works toward a common greater good for all of our beneficiaries by participating in the following activities: education, fundraising, increasing awareness, involvement and community service.

The inspiration to comes from interviews, lyrics, songs and words of encouragement from the band Pearl Jam.

With my two hands... I can change the world...
Thank you to Eddie Vedder, the fans and to Demetrios for organizing this event for White Ribbon Campaign.

hahah. morning after night 1 toronto, i was in search of a staples or local frame shop, to put the poster in a display for everybody to see at the preparty. hour or so later walking the streets next to my hotel, i was able to find a staples that had the backframe for holy poster.

Eric man, those hours spent in toronto were just amazing. it was intense, emotional, many tears & sweet happiness. i never felt like that before in my life.

if i had planned things better i would have asked eV to supply me with the frame as well when he handed the signed poster over hehe ;)

the atmosphere in the city among eV/PJ fans during the 2 eV shows was outstanding, i'd argue even more intense than over the course of a 2-day PJ stay :)

lol i initially had the same reaction to the title of the thread hehe, as i love the WRC series,...i miss Colin McRae, may he RIP.

truth be told, eV along with the rest of PJ are ALL car guys. was fun watching each one, minus eV, pull into Benaroya Hall in their personal cars :)

the poster eV signed was the ONLY thing he signed, as far as i have been able to establish, while at Massey Hall over the course of both shows. every single person that waited outside the venue was shut out, unfortunately. i was told eV "wasn't feeling well" but truth be told the perimeter of the venue lacked an adequate opportunity for crowd control during an autograph session. eV signed the poster inside Massey Hall an hour after arriving at the venue when i raised the fundraising effort with him and i received the poster from him shortly there after,...

    Commendable work Demetrios! Thumbs up!

Just to clarify, Wishlist is not directly affiliated with Pearl Jam, their management or any related entities.

The Foundation is maintained by fans and events are organized by great people like you.

    Again, great work D!
