I dont believe in being in love
so does that make me a freak
i dont have animosity towards people in love
i just dont believe sucha thing exists
people who stay together for 50 years do it out of responsibility
Im not going to hail hail the so called lucky ones
they are only going to face the inevitable
it gives me room to breathe, bow i dont have to worry about it
“ ahh…. Yaa…. If you trust me at all… if you wanna listen to me at all… which you certainly don’t have to. Speaking from experience I can tell you that things change. You could believe me, you don’t have to. They probably won’t change, unless you make them. The best way to change something around you, something you don’t like, is.. to change yourself. I don’t think you want other people changing you.. I think.. I think.. the only person you want changing you… is yourself. So if you ain’t happy…. If you’re reading magazines about generation x’s and thinking ‘ya im one of them’ well fuck that…. Don’t let anybody tell you who you are. No… No…. No one can tell me who I am. I can tell you who I am but that would be a long story… I can tell you who I am and it wouldn’t fit in a Rolling Stone…. It wouldn’t fit in a video… it wouldn’t… its my life…. Its your life. Youre the only one that knows who you are. I hope you know who you are. If you don’t know who you are, figure it out. Cause you are some body. And Im probably stating the obvious. But I just thought I would do it anyway. So if you fell like you got a piece of duct tape on your mouth, if you feel like you cant speak. Take it off, Speak up. Speak your Mind. Shout it Out.     so this is a poem about opinions on love,right?

    i'm glad you're giving yourself some room because you're way too young to be jaded yet.

    people stay together for 50 years for all different reasons.

    companionship
    compatability
    great sex
    caring beyond just sex
    dependence
    codependence
    fell in and out and back in love a million and a half times
    built a beautiful life together
    had a family that have families of their own
    endured hardship and good times that bonded
    never forgot the first time they looked into each other's eyes because it still feels the same when they do
    are best friends

    you will find this partner and will never think of love as a burden again.

    I think there's love, but people shouldn't get married. Marriage ruins love, and makes people die inside. And sort of gives them that sense of responsibility. Just my opinion, though

    most of these fit into the category of responsibility. im sure people stay together for "love" but how many people do you know have a complete passion for each other for 50 years the same way they did in the beginning

    Love is more then we can truely understand...

    if we dont understand it then it proves my point its intangible to us. you can say its a feeling but feelings dont last forever

    I don't agree with you girl....I just think its harder to come by than most people think. But I could tell you stories about it existing....not that I've ever found it myself.

    But if you don't attempt to understand love you can never experence it. True LOVE is not a feeling, it is almost supernatural. There is the spiritual aspect to it, there is responsibility to it (as stated above), there is beauty to it.

    Now, do I understand it? No... but I am trying to. I know love is exist. I see it in the sunrise. I feel it on an evening walk. I see it in my son's eyes when I get home.

    I also though have doudted love, have spent dark times in my life... interestingly if there is pain in this world there has to be love: there is opposites in this life. Smile/Frown Love/Hate Darkness/Light

    i understand im not trying to argue anything. i just dont believe in true love. just as people cant hate thing 100% they cant love like that. plus if true love is feelings it doesnt last such as taking walks or watching the sunrise. how many times can you sit there watch the sunrise or take walks before you get bored. Its like all relationships it gets boring

    Bordom is something else all together. (Bordom is a result of our pleasure seeking society) (of course that is my opinion and a different topic)

    Maybe we (as in anyone) need to have a definition first for love. To have a refrence point of discussion. You, artin90, mention "True Love", but what do you think that means?

    Side note: I never get bored of sunsets or walks.

    Love-1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection. 2. a feeling of warm personal attachment. 3. sexual desire or its gratification. 4. a beloved person. 5. a strong predilection or liking for something. 6. Tennis. a score of zero. (predilection-a marked preference.)
