I cross ocean,
poor and broke,
Take bus,
see employment folk.

Nice man treat me
good in there,
Say I need to
see welfare.

Welfare say,
"You come no more,
We send cash
right to your door."

Welfare checks,
they make you wealthy,
Medicaid it keep
you healthy!

By and by,
I got plenty money,
Thanks to you,
American dummy.

Write to friends
in motherland,
Tell them 'come
fast as you can.'

They come in turbans
and Ford trucks,
I buy big house
with welfare bucks

They come here,
we live together,
More welfare checks,
it gets better!

Fourteen families,
they moving in,
But neighbor's patience wearing thin.

Finally, American
moves away,
Now I buy his house,
and then I say,

"Find more aliens
for house to rent."
And in the yard
I put a tent.

Send for family
they just trash,
But they, too,
draw the welfare cash!

Everything is
very good,
And soon we
own the neighborhood.

We have hobby - -
it's called breeding,
Welfare pay
for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist?
Wife need pills?
We get free!
We got no damn bills!

American crazy!
He pay all year,
To keep welfare
running here.

We think America
darn good place!
Too darn good for
the American race.

If they no like us,
they can scram,
Got lots of room in
Pakistan.
there'll be time for laughin'
there's no time to cry
soon i will be leavin'
look me in the eye
no matter what's in front of me
it's your face that i'll see

I've read it before, by the way.

That's a bit rough. We have welfare in Australia too and I thank God for it because my life would have been very difficult without it. Welfare doesn't make people rich, they live on just enough to get by, pay the rent, buy food, pay the bills and not much more.

I'll say this. The UK would be fucked without migrant labour, "legal" or "illegal".

Plus my fiance is an immigrant, and not only does he work and not use welfare, but he took me off of welfare by supporting me once we moved in together. And he is doing a job that is in high demand that we actually need people from other countries to come here and do because we don't have enough qualified Australians to do it. Just saying that was a pretty inconsiderate, narrow-minded poem based on biased opinion.

Yes, it's a "poem" I've seen doing the rounds on the web and causing offence. It's not an original.

I'm a little surprised it was posted here, especially under the guise of an original. Who would want to put their name to that?
