Deaf Message

The message I am receiving is you are leaving
Silence grows deaf
The last leaf has fallen
Tears that never fell burn inside

Where did never go
When was it spoken
As if it didn’t exist
What are those words I saw in the air
Burned into memory
Testifies to the lie our lives are

Melancholy echoes and reverberates beneath
Preaching upon the alter of pain
Smiling at the pyre of ashen promises

Light bending the shadows
My eyes bend to your will
Thy will be thy pain and pleasure
Will bares mourning for what cannot be
What was sworn, stolen

Baptized in my tears
Last rights given with my fears
Who is responsible for how my future is written
I did not write mine like this
