about 50 photos, 20kb or so.
First post is the military type stuff, second is the abstract/random type stuff.

Please criticize away, compliments are fine too.

Everything is in BW, or BW with filtered color. I am sick and tired of color photography these days. I've posted some at photography dedicated message boards before, and they love to rip my photos, since a lot of them are grainy, and don't follow the "rules"

It's all here.

Enjoy.

"Me and some kids. All the brass in my vest was given to the kids so they could sell. They would point at it and say MONEY MONEY. The first time I saw them I had no clue what they were talking about."

I know what they were talking about now too.

A friend of mine gave every bit of money he had on him to some kids in Costa Rica or Manta, or somewhere where children have to beg and soldiers buy them things.

    thanks for those pictures

"Local kids. We had just gave like 15 of them our MREs and bottled water. We also gave them all of our spent munition shells. The intelligent little fuckers will pick up all brass, and sell it."

They are very smart. And a lot of them in other places like Manta, Ecuador have a cleaner school thanks to our military.

My friend took his saturday, he was hungover as hell mind you, in Manta to clean up a school.

The school was not like what a person in the states would imagine. It was really just three walls and a roof. The boys had to use a trough outside and the girls had one toilet. (and that was for the wealthy children, or the rich kids, as my friend just said)

He said, "We cleaned up broken glass that was in a stucco wall. The wall had barbed wire at the top and was filled with the broken glass that they placed in it so others wouldn't climb over it and steal things."

"The smartest 'fucker' was about seven and could speak English better than I could. He had never even seen a school before, never even been on that side of town. He'd shine shoes for a quarter, a quarter a pair, actually."

"He followed me around. Me and my buddies gave him a dollar a shoe. He did push-ups for a coca-cola. He'd never had a coca-cola before."

"And then I brought him to talk to you on the phone."

the pictures are good ... intersting and in a way informing .. that last one with the flag is quite abstract .. it speaks so much that you can write a poem listening to its words
