love/lust

you know i don't mind sexual innuendo when it's subtle or artistic, creating a feeling, or as an extension of an expression of love.

but i'm sorry, the blatant and random use of "cum", "dick", etc. makes me cringe.

there are some who enjoy using that to simply get a response from sexual people, and i realize some enjoy this sex play, but it seems like every single post is being touched by the insidious hand of anonymity.

i enjoy the poetry here, many wonderful ideas and sensations, however, the constant sexual additions are becoming extremely tiresome.

it would be cool to keep it special, witty, thoughtful. i think there are a more than a few who have been turned off of writing here now because of the overbearing push of sexually-based teasing.

it gets real old, real fast.

  • Your opinion is appreciated however, I disagree. I think there are still many people who post here regardless of what some of us say. In fact I've seen a lot of new faces around! We do our silly, sexual talk in the name of FUN! We're still young enough to have that! Yes, along side of our heartfelt thoughts and out-pourings we tend to go a little off base but some of us talk like this. We are all different. That's what makes us special, right?

Yeah, we get carried away but you know what? It puts a big smile on my face :D. And I'm sure those of us who banter back and forth feel the same as do some that read our posts.

You will not always like what I have to say and I will not always like what others have to say but we all have a right to say it! That's the beauty of freedom of speech.

If you don't like something you're reading, you have the choice to stop reading it and look at something else.

Please, try to realize that we're not doing it to piss anyone else off, we're just trying to lighten the load of the day and enjoy ourselves.

    No hard feelings.

    Take it easy! Peace!

now that you have designated yourself spokesperson for everyone, could you please tell me why there must be a sexual blurt on nearly every single post?

as it is, if i see the name, i avoid reading it because it's not amusing anymore. one can only read how sexually excited someone is or about their penchant for oral sex so many times.

young enough to still have fun? age has nothing to do with it, believe me! nor with immaturity. i have nothing against having fun, i love wordplay intensely, i love being challenged to decipher a cryptic message or a double entendre. i love emotion-evoking assortments of sounds and visuals. and i love this band.

and i can innuendo with the best of them too. if i am scared off, it would only be because of the progressively chat room atmosphere, rather than the great exploration of ideas and creative minds that present themselves here.

Nope, not a spokesperson. Just stating my opinion as I'm sure anyone who wishes will do.

It's amazing how two, totally different personalities can be brought together for the love of the same band! Embrace it, don't hate it!

You do what you feel is necessary for yourself.

    people are different
keep posting your poems here because they're beautiful and i'll keep reading them
and i'll keep posting my poems and you can either read them or not, but they've never been outrightly about sex or oral sex or anything vaguely explicit, trust me...
  • In strides CranMalReign to represent the middle ground... or at least what he views as the middle ground from his little perch in the forum.

On one hand, the side discussions promote a sense of levity in a forum which is otherwise rather weighty and somber. This place would be pretty dead without the off-topic conversations. Seriously... how long can you tolerate a board that follows the pattern of posting poetry followed by a handful of people praising its imagery or wordplay or orgies of praise. That gets old, in my opinion, so off-topic discussion and entertaining banter, I feel, are quite welcome as a space filler.

On the other hand, I do believe Felicity has a point when she says the blatant sexual discussions have gone a bit too far. Granted, I'm not offended by them, but I also grow a little tired by them. I can see Felicity's point when she's dismayed that just about every post in this forum eventually degrades to smutty banter. At the very least, there are some threads that deserve to remain undephiled.

I say all this as a person who has participated from time to time in the smut. I agree with Felicity, it's a little much. I agree with B.E., she doesn't have to read it.

I call for a limiting of this kind of stuff, but not an elimination. I think it's necessary for levity in an otherwise somber, slow, and dark board. You have to admit, there's not much in the way of happy poetry shared on here. ;)

to do what is necessary for myself. that is a very insulting comment. and where is it that you perceive "hate"? that is not a word i use.

i embrace diversity of opinion and temperament, it's what makes the world delicious, challenging, beautiful.

i was not referring to you, g, regarding subject matter. i appreciate your artistry and subtlety. thank you for the positive comment on my writing. it always comes from the heart, you can believe that too.

i disagree that the rearviewmirror quote relates to this situation. isn't that song about escaping a horrible situation of abuse? lyrics used out of context can be risky and possibly hurtful.

nevertheless, i respect the poetry people post here very much, i don't choose to degrade it or dissect it into something less significant.

I had no intention of hurting anyone--never do!

Next time I'll just say it without the quotation marks---it was the words I wanted---not the same meaning or I would have quoted the whole song.

Now let's just try to get along or at least tolerate eachother. OK?

you do have a way with words in terms of finding the middle ground, keeping the peasants happy and content and caring about each other, in the best way you can.

somber and dark indeed sometimes. i think we rarely write about joyous and exciting moments because they are so fleeting, but depression, worry, and broken hearts tend to extend emotion.

it seems your crown is not one of thorns, but of holly, ivy, and mistletoe. (look up the designated meanings of these plants, if desired)

tolerance is something i have cultivated for a very long time. however, i have difficulty with shallow thoughts or dismissive comments.

we are all worth much more than that. in this arena, the mutual respect is paramount, that's a given.

Being an entity in the "beloved" poetry section who donates a few poems here and there. There is one I constantly donate to, to help pass the working day. When I arrive at work in the morning I pass by here and I read the poems. I have come to know that after the initial poem there is going to be a ton of gibberish. It is almost the rule? I just read what I want and I move on. If the poem touches me in the right way, with the mood I am in, I might comment to the writer. I don't think that the "fun" that some of the people have when they come here, harms, hurts, or chases people away from posting. They would have to be blind to see that it is the same persons having the same fun everyday. I see no harm in it at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thus we are all able to voice one when we want. I just don't see how some people having fun offends you to the point that you need to take it to the board. But, there is a first for everything. As stated, it would be very, very, boring in here if this was a place I chose to hang out all day and had to read about death, personal problems, a boyfriend who can't handle their girlfriend and threatens people, which in turn did chase some quality people away. Maybe you should have come around for that episode. I am sure you might have had a stern voice for that too. Lighten up a bit.
You've changed your place in this world!

i don't understand you. i have explained that i'm not against fun, i am irritated by the breakdown of meaning by use of blatant comments.

if i don't write with smiley faces and exclamation points, that does not mean i am not positive. i find those details annoyingly uncreative.

this ends now because i say so
no more fighting in the poetry hut
    everyone is welcome
    write what you want
    read what you want
    love what you want
but no one asks anything of anyone

There is no fighting just poetry.

errr... she had the nerve to hug me...

she plants herself in her cleaning habits

i'm sorry... i don't mean anything by the above... i see both sides, i get bored and know i can come here and joke around with co-poets, and hopefully, one of them will send me to my dictionary to figure out what the heck they just said...

but when i want to read poetry...
i know how to find 'em here...

i don't personally care to limit what others discuss... it's not my board, i just play here....

i do find myself from time to time picking through a lot of poo- throwing and virtual spankings to find the gems...

    but it's okay

because i do eventually find what i need

    peace to all
