when you've been through
what life has dealt
what you've chosen
to experience anyway
when you've been hit
between the eyes
between the legs
it drops you cold
when you've been down
in the hole
in the hell
of hopelessness
sooner or later
it all comes around
to that static state
you're safe and sound
it may be in a king sized bed
it may be in a doorway
it may be in the shelter
it may be in their home
but sooner or later
it all comes around
to that static state
you're safe and sound
when you don't try
to find your own
to make your home
and live life right
when you don't have
a light of hope
a passion's dream
or love for warmth
when you don't want
your deepest joy
your finest time
whole body/mind/soul
sooner or later
it all comes around
to that static state
you're safe and sound
and content...
and inert...
and stuck there...

i want everything! it's a battle, but it's the most fun and frustration, and absurd realization ever!
damn, you are so smart, and so right. maybe that's what pisses me off, that you are right. yep, that's it! i'm finally admitting it! i've been so stubborn and you've been right the whole time, and i've been blaming you for everything because i misunderstood. well, really i took things two different ways. you did take the teasing to the farthest limits though, such a jerk. but now that i'm pretty clear on what's up, i love you as much as ever, which is with everything, honey.

    Me and that Safe girl would make a good couple
    It was a dream, not a nightmare. A beautiful dream I could never imagined in a thousand nods. I saw this girl next to me, she wasn't beautiful until she smiled. And I felt that smile come at me in heat waves following. Soaking through my body and out my finger tips in shafts of color. And I knew somewhere in the world, somewhere, that there was love for me.
