miracles

all we have to do is look around
if there's some reason
that we don't believe in miracles
they exist in every cell
in each object we can see or feel
they are behind my eyes
settled in the memory banks
impulses running softly
and quietly
over the moist mass
of the brain
and creating images and sounds
patterns and music
that make me so happy
to express what's on my mind
sometimes it'll be a thought
or an actual occurrence
but who's to say what's real
just because it's imagined
doesn't mean it never could
or hasn't already happened
where are we on the continuum-
before the best ever
or past the glory days
time can play tricks on us
remembering sequences and scenes
conversations or fantasies
for me it all exists
somewhere in there
with you

    I'm drunk... ...
The most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway, is that its you, and that you're standing in the doorway.

I write down good reasons to freeze to death in my spiral ring notebook. But in the long tresses of your hair--I am a babbling brook.
