maybe someday
i'll touch your face
and you'll fall in love with me
all over again
and our lips will meet
and you'll whisper my name
and how pretty my face looks
in the light of the
stars
maybe someday
my tears will fall
and your hands will be the ones
to wipe them away

but it isn't someday
and you're so far away
and you're feeling alone
and i can't hold you
at night
not now

and even if some
other sweet hand should
touch your face
in the middle of the night
and you smile
and you laugh
and you whisper the name
of some beauty you met
and that name isn't mine
but your heart beats so fast
then through my tears
and my breaking heart
i'll know that you
are as happy as ever
and i'll be at peace
because you will be too

and maybe that beauty
will break your heart
(but i really hope not)
or maybe you'll break hers
(again, i really hope not)
or maybe you'll just drift apart
like some people do
unharmed

and if then, maybe someday
our eyes can meet
and we can smile at each other
and you can take my hand
and i can love you
like no one else has ever loved you before

but this isn't someday
and you're so far away
and you're so alone
and i can't hold you
at night
not now...

    I never replied to this one, eh? Well, this was the poem I read that brought me back to this board after over a year. I like your writings because they read well to me, they look as if they're written how I'd write them; I can relate to your poems in more ways than one at times. I find it hard to relate to the majority of poems on here and in general. Your angle is refreshing.

    Not much of a critic, I'm afraid. Just wanted to say that I loved this. Really reminds me of that frozen feeling inside when thinking of an ex-lover being with someone else and the longing to be with them and hold them and make them know that you're the only one for them. Anyway. Thanks.

    of the girl.....I like this.....so generous....and sad too.....reminds me of Bob saying 'if you see her, say 'hello', she might be in Tangiers....if you're making love to her....kiss her for the kid....who always has respected her for doing what she did'......but the good thing is you don't sound brokenhearted......bittersweet
    ....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......
