nothing more
than a tear
in a cold lonely room
and a cloudy day
to make a pretty smile
turn into a knowing
frown
softly sinking
and cuddling herself
to keep warm
she'll close her
eyes
and pretend
she's on a cloud
someplace
looking around
and down
and smiling
at children
playing in a field
of sunflowers
or else
she'll just pretend
her arms
that keep herself warm
are someone
else's
it's raining
it's springtime
but where are the
flowers?
where is the
warmth?
where is
everybody?

Last night I fell asleep with my window open, and my bed is under my window. I woke up and my face was wet from it raining. I've felt very lonely lately. It was like the rain provided my tears because I'm unable to cry because of my loss of feelings for anything anymore.
I don't know if that really had anything to do with what you wrote, but that's what it made me think of when I read it.
Andy, you really hit it on the head. Lonliness. In any colour/flavour/texture... that's all I was really getting at. So yes, what you said definitely kept with my theme.
I'm sorry you're sad. I'm sorry anyone's sad. I'm even sorry *I'm* sad, however selfsish that may be. I guess I'll continue finding the poetry in it though, and at least that's something great and beautiful.
Smile once for me, though, kay?

let's not wallow in it though... let's embrace each other, and keep each other company, and sing a sad song or something... that, to me, is a much more beautiful use of sadness. <-- look, the thought of it even produced a smile!!

not Black. that's too sad. and I suppose I wasn't going for sad as much.
But The Reason has balance. Let's sing that.
