so what's happening in NYC this monday?

was wondering what cool events are happening around the madison square garden area monday june 23rd? i'm staying just across the street. i know coldplay is playing, but didn't score tickets to the show. d'oh!

any cool local bands playing close by the arena? any art or poetry events that evening? just planning for that night coming in to nyc.

    i'll be in NYC and am staying at the same hotel you are, d.
    when my honey arrives, i think when it gets dark i'ma head down to times square/broadway and ooh and ahh at the lights since i havent done that in a few years.
    you wanna go with?
    i'm sure we can find SOMETHING to keep us occupied

    you should go see Avenue Q, it's a hilarious musical on broadway. i saw it a few weeks ago and highly recommend it, AND it's one of the few shows that plays on Mondays. i think the website is http://www.avenueq.com

    Right now I am getting in Tuesday morning from F. Lauderdale......but if I can get off Monday I will be in Monday nite..and if that shall happen I will drinking at some bar preferably one with alot of PJ on the Box........

    so am I.. it's just a train ride away.. and Penn Station is right below MSG.

    What a shame...I read an article a few years ago that they were having a really hard time paying the rent...it was like 25K a month or something. :(

    awesome, a fellow Pittsburgh fan who will be in NY. So if I show up at said bar, I can root for the Buccos openly and not get my ass kicked by Yankees' fans?

    Indeed Thirsty's usually has a good bit of Pittsburgh fans. You might also want to check out Scruffy Duffy's, Molly Pitchers Ale House(they have iron city!!!), Hurley's(also have IC!), and State of Grace Pub. All have a good chance of having a few Pitt fans there. And dont worry if there isn't any Pitts fans, cheer the hell out of the Bucs! I have found NYers dont mess with Pitt fans and are usually respected. But any if any trouble brews, just give the Gary Roberts growl or wave a terrible towel, Pitts fans will come out of the woodwork to have your back lol. Have a good time. Maybe I'll see ya giving some Buccos love and buy ya a beer.

    I would head down to the Village. There is bound to be a bar that has some local bands playing. Who knows. Maybe Eddie will show up!

    Was wondering if 10-Club members have a particular place in mind to party pre-MSG shows. I am headed to both shows and would be cool to hang and get pumped. Those are going to be 2 special nights!
