the forgotten notebook poem that pat requested

the rain drenched trees outside my window
sing the truth as the breeze blows them dry
extra green, the lush smooth grass looks just as it did last June
when I'd lay under the moon naked and soft
as a baby
and i'd hum little songs I had written myself.
Only the buzzing of a fly past my earlobe
could possess such a resonant drowsiness.
Swirling above my windowsill are phantoms
of a wisdom i always
hoped I'd hold
and the dismal sky above is just
a giant cloud reminding me of all the words i cannot
find...
pages have yellowed since i last touched a pen
and the world is much more shaken.
It's a crueler place out under the woeful sky,
but there's a green balloon floating by
and nothing short of watching it til it disappears could give
me a little trust in the dreams of
tomorrow,,,
i smile and smile and sip my tea and
dream of changing the world...
and floating...

Good to see you coming around again of the girl.

Use the edit button and fix up the fourth last line. ;) Other than that a very nice piece.
You've changed your place in this world!
