if i made the laws you could say anything you want to me!
if i made the laws maryjane would be legal and free,
if i made the laws only one on one wars you would see!
if i made the laws id reinstate the eye for an eye,
if i made the laws all child molesters would die!!!!!
if i made the laws a man could marry a man,
if i made the laws my money and yours wouldnt be in just my hands,
if i made the laws the sick would be well,
if i made the laws all of our children would eat hot meals,
if i made the laws your opinions would count,
if i made the laws i would make the greedy spend all there dollar amounts!
if i made the laws id keep the future in mind,
if i made the laws id be sensitive to all man kind!

  • interesting idea there, August. a "conceptual poem"...with a heart! Of course, one might call it a bit "idealistic", but then, so is very much poetry! I like it.

August, I love your work, truly.

    One thing though...

An eye for an eye? isn't very sensitive.

however the part about the child molesters I completely agree with.

thanks setaside i appreciate that compliment, and i know that eye for an eye isnt sensative i just sometimes feel like if you knew how others felt by the things you do to them then maybe somethings you wouldnt do! but i respect you for saying that i always appreciate polite critisism, or if you even want to call it that becuase it was a very nice way to put it. thanks again.

I just wanted to clarify and make sure that you knew that my respect for your work remains undiminished.

It's important to me that you know that. Keep posting your mind and your thoughts and your heart. I respect you for it.
