welcome back all!

for anyone who has been around longer might recognice that part of a poem i wrote earlier this year (Noble River) is mixed into this song.

i'm not gonna tell you, but if good luck figuring out who this song is about :P

Father Greed (written: 11-18-04)

voices gathered 'round the piano,
familiar faces are found...
he blessed their talent in his prayers,
while thinking about his own account...
he is preaching no self glory,
while praising his pearls to the top...
I question your devotion, father,
and the spirits will buy my tale, evil they will be
doing the right thing with the wrong reasons,
does not seem right to me

he's giving up all his having
just to become part of the haves

does faith takes its toll
when the green gets involved?

He's creating a monster
I'm swallowing the bad seeds
encountering discouraging images
I quasi ignore the reflex
I witness harmful endurance
as he's fighting for respect

he gave up all his having
just to become part of the haves

faith took its toll
when the green got involved

I mustn’t judge
nor justify
so instead I laugh
knowing that my will,
will
