Go Ahead and Litter

Go ahead and litter; return things
To their sacred tortured womb.
The styrofoam, the fiberglass, the diamond rings:
The stuff of life will make it's room.

Go ahead and litter; disperse it all
Round the wiggling precious Earth.
The newspaper, the fishbone, your summer charcoal:
Let the wind and rain sort out worth.

  • I like the form of this one. I think it needs a third stanza though. The second stanza continues to repeat and illustrate the proposition made in the first, and there needs to be some hook or thematic turnaround, or even a question, to follow.
