What do I care if the cable man
Came to your house
& called you a whore?
Why should I blink my eyes
(your parents complain too much about
the state of Welfare)
If you have a troubling thought
Sweating trembling in your pale-lit
Bedroom?

I'm not you
(you wouldn't even let me brush your hair)

  • sorry for my french....but I fucking love this poem!!!

    WHAT AN ENDING!
It doesnt hurt.... when I bleed
    but memories...they eat me
    I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.

  • ....it's such an angry poem....I'm not sure where it came from. I think perhaps I've got some unresolved women-resentments! I just decided to title one of the sections in my next little poetry collection "Estrogenicide." I adore women, don't get me wrong. Just dealing with some past, I guess. Glad you guys liked this one!

look up "misogeny", and "nice guys"
    don't be one
women don't belong on pedestals, contrary to press and popular belief

    the poem rocks
  • I do put them on pedestals, you're right. And I can't stop either. I've tried. In it's own way, even the pain of doing so is satisfying.

Like all men, I am somewhat sick with it.

    Thanks for the comments, PN!

  • well...

pedestals are nice. the person on it feels good for a while, and the one "below" gets to live vicariously through it. (and what better way to see up a gal's skirt?.... kidding, kidding...)

    however.

after a while, the girl's ankles hurt from standing and the guy resents that she no longer appreciates being up there...

    it's ticky-tack, take, take back
    and destined to fail horribly

better that all four feet be on the ground.
equality is good stuff for everyone involved

you're so welcome. this poem hits a note i can definitely hear :D

A bit different than anything I've ever read, but it's intrigueing nonetheless.
