While you were at work
I smelled your side of the bed,
ran my fingers
over the smooth, white sheet.
Then I showered amongst
your short blue bottles
in the dark.

I light candles now
and watch your day's crumpled clothes
flickering in the corner.

Very nice. You described a world in such a small space that it was very powerful.

You are all so quite nice to me!

Someone told me a few days ago--and I quote--that I "write poetry for women." I didn't know what to think about that. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, but is it true? I'm not even sure what that means.
