What could be so bad
To persuade you to an end?
Do you feel like you've been had
Or are you just mourning the loss of a friend?

Nothing's impossible to overcome
And anyone who thinks that's false I'd say is dumb

You let these minor inconveniences
Coalesce into catastrophe
And yet, despite of all your grievances
Your life's not such a tragedy
At least, not to the degree you lent your death to

Look at all these tears
I suppose it makes you smile
That in only seventeen years
You amassed a procession of a mile

What do you think you've accomplished?
Not nearly as much as if you'd stopped this

I bet these little situations
That you turned into catastrophe
It gets a little grief, but face it
It wasn't such a tragedy
At least, not to the degree you lent your death to

And I know that it was stupid
For you to go out like you did
But you wouldn't understand it
Because you were just a kid
(And now you'll always be)

Out of respect for your family
I'd like to show a little bit of sympathy
To be mournful, but I can't be
I'd never let my problems kill me

At sunset you were gone
But I know your name will live on
On the tongues of teens
With hopes and dreams
Who know they'll live to see the dawn

If you let life's minor inconveniences
Coalesce into catastrophe
You'll get a little grief, but it's meaningless
It won't be such a tragedy

At sunset you were gone
With the image burned into the minds of the lookers-on
Through your pathetic display
How many fucking lives did you hope to save?
Maybe now you know that it was wrong
I didn't have to write your swan song
With or without you, we'll see the dawn.
