There's something about the snow in your hair
That makes me think we've got a chance this year
And it's exciting like Christmas Day
All I want to do is play
The vets have packed up all of their poppies
And the bells ring out a tune about shopping
And it's exciting as Christmas Day
I don't care how much I have to pay

It was depressing as hell when the clocks went back
By the time I got off work, it was pitch black
But there's a light shining in your eyes
Now that you're shining on me, I can't say goodbye

When the forecast changed our snow into rain
And the puddles gathered 'round the storm drain
It was a buzzkill like Boxing Day
That's when I knew I had to put you away
Now the registers are ringing again
Their symphony of "no tax" and all this loose change
And it's a letdown like Boxing Day
I've figured out how much I have to pay

I guess there's nothing left to do but wait
Until time tells me it's love or hate
But I'm hopeful like New Year's Day
Given a new start, we'll be okay.
