"perish the thought"

am i yours or self relied
born in life just to hide
take the nuse from my neck
as children were afraid of "heck"
now grown up we fight our souls
gave up our future goals
i take off now on a run
back in time when it was fun

put on a smile, and were your simple skin
remeber that you will, never win
life is only a choice
my desition in you hands

-Water, in my ears
my throught, is burning
through my tears
fire, in my head
cuz i know,tomorow we'll be dead-

~im tied, to the cross
i lied, all is lost
we run faster now
times gone
pain is now~

Am i yours or self relied
spoke to soon then we died
if love if something that i fear
then why do i keep comeing hear

is that a question or a title?
  • not that anyone cares.....but i just did a kinda stupid thing......i shaved my head into a mohawk after my dad threatened to dissown me(send me away with dss again) if i did so.I look like Ed when he had one.
  • how about TIED?
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's....
    His hair was perfect.
  • Yeah, I think 'tittle' would be a good title. I like your poem, and I really like the spelling mistakes...like you are so angry you don't care...sort of old Alice Cooper...'I can't even think of a word that rhymes.
There's more to balance than not falling over.

seven! you know I almost posted that.

But I love the word Perish. Excellent choice, if I may say so myself. Do you have any of this stuff up on the net somewhere to listen to? I am deadly curious.

Also, and you don't have to answer at all, but you have a strong religious overtone OR a post-religious theme of some sort in your lyrics. Any reason for this?

I hope that isn't too personal. Love the work, hope to hear it.

not yet i still feel the need to perfect the music before i record. but to descibe our sound, were a mixture of classic 70's style rock, and alternative, with some noise experimentation. were currently adding some blues and jazz into the mix to.i want our album to have songs that take people through a different experiance with each track.

    anser 2

i am not that religious but i do feel a connection to alot of the stuff writen in he bible( i am also pissed off by alot of stuff in it), if u ever sit down a read that thing its filled with dark insperation, like a NIN album.

Funny thing is that I agree with you.

I have read it for many reasons. I will admit that many times I have read it to combat the extreme religious right that pervades my end of town and wants to send me to hell for wearing the wrong jeans or some such. I have had many a conversation with them and have thrown the book back at them as many times as I possibly can with "READ this. REALLY read this."

I agree that it is an inspiration, of many colors. Thanks for letting me in.

edit: oh and hey man, I wasn't trying to give a negative connotation with the religious theme. Hell most of the greatest works of art, architecture and otherwise were created by men searching for their place in the cosmos through faith. I have no issue with that sort of creativity. I take issue with any religious man who dares condemn another without taking a heavy and highly introspective look at themselves first. If they find no fault, then they may judge. That is, of course, my opinion. I don't see anything bad about being a christian. I see a lot of things wrong with being a persecutional christian.

    Okay that does it!

what's with the length issue? some of the greatest poems EVER are BOOKS!

Hell, half of shakespeare is poetry. On the Road? Howl? Omeros? Beowulf?

It's all poetry. But NOVELS long. LOL I have a few hundred words and people freak out. LOL

I'm not comparing my quality of writing to shakespeare and Kerouac or Ginsberg, but I'm just saying that they are blissfully short comparatively, is all.

Damn this just strikes me as hysterical. LMFAO!!!

and one other thing? LOL who's telling you that you shouldn't read them because they're long? :D That's hysterical! :P

LOL if I do have a price on my head, it can't be more than 50 cents plus tax.

It's taking a long time for someone to be interested in killing the wayward poet.
