Deep thoughts #2 (love)

We are searching for love. At a young age we come up with this phantom image of the person we will fall in love with. And will spend our lives searching for that person, and the feeling we get when we think about them. But is that a feeling we will never get? I've fallen in love too many times and I've felt that feeling. But I kinda get the feeling I put my phantom image into them, and i'm seeing things that arent their. So do we just seddle for who ever we LIKE and make our selves LOVE them? Or are our phantom loves really out their? Not to get personal but, that feeling of getting up in the morning with no one by your side is more han i can bear. I NEED love....All you need is love.....but anyones?

    If there's something I've learned... it's that the one you'll love forever is the one you were never looking for.

    I've found the girl I was looking for all my life. I've found her 3 times. And none of those 3 times was she it.

    Then I found the girl I'll love forever. I wasn't even looking for her. She was just there, and nothing like I had expected, and better than I had ever dreamed.

    We think we know what we want.

    We don't.

    I don't think one should search for phantom projections of what you want someone to be. You have to be patient, open-hearted, open-minded. I don't think true love is something one has to search for, if it is meant to be, it will come. Not to say just sit back & wait for it to come knocking on your door, but don't make it the sole purpose of your day. Loneliness sucks but being with someone that you don't love or vice-versa is much worse! May true love find it's way to you!

    Dear Sevinsins,

    I agree with what CranMalReign says. Falling in love with someone, it happens when you're not thinking about it.

    As far as what you have to say, I think you are right in that we all look for someone who "fits" our idea of the perfect love, but most of the time it turns out the person you love "forever" is not very similar to that phantom image.

    We think up versions of our perfect love in very simple terms, at least I always did. I'd think he'd be this, and this, and that, and wow that too.... But you don't think about all the other stuff that plays into falling in love with a person. Mostly, I think, because it hasn't happened yet, so we can't conceptualize it. You grow to love people. You learn little things about them (goofy shit) that makes your day. You argue with them and find out how they feel about life. You learn stuff from them without trying. You teach them things too. You find yourself thinking of them as your family (because they become that to you), and realize you would rather be miserable with them than "not miserable" without them.

    The guy I'm with (and will be with for the rest of my life) is so different from my ideal version of my true love, I often wonder what the hell I was thinking, but you know what, I don't feel like I settled for anything with him. I think he's just fine. Lastly, I think you'll find this too in the future.

    Ps. I like the stuff you write here. Really all the stuff I read here is cool. Thanks for posting stuff everyone.

    i cant really add much to what people have already said, i agree with it all. i dont think you can look for love, it just happens to come along, most of the time when you least expect it!!

    good luck seven, and you wont wake up with noone there, you'll find your gal im sure :)

    But for the sake of argument,when I think about my parents I dont feel that feeling of closeness. I dont feel that horible feeling if I think of them dying. I get those feelings if I think of my phantom love. Does that mean I dont love my parents, or that I dont love my phantom?

    i guess it just means that you arent so close your your parents as you said, doesnt mean you dont love them.

    but be careful that you wont only settle for this 'phantom' incase she's not out there. there will be someone else out there that may be your true love but she may not be this girl you've made up to be perfect....ya know?

    i dont think its stupied, i used to picture my perfect guy.. then i met him and now he has a gf but keeps calling me.. i dont get it.. i asked him why are u calling me when you have a gf and he couldnt answer.. i dont know i kinda think that there is more to us and he is now relizing it when he has a gf.. i dont know.. just my thought

And I felt that smile come at me in heat waves following. Soaking through my body and out my finger tips in shafts of color. And I knew somewhere in the world, somewhere, that there was love for me.

    I think it's hard to define love, I dont think I could do it justice putting it into words. You see it when you want to see it, when you like someone and you want to love them, you make yourself love them. But true love is found on a deeper level, undiscibable. I have felt it but am unsure if what I felt was me forceing love, or true love. Gess I wont know untill I find my true love.
