i could always use another ear yellow. my hate for my father has existed since i was about 5, so i have kind always been in this place. he fucked me up......alot. when i was i think like 6 or seven i carved "I hate you dad" on the bathroom wall. do you know what i am talking about? do you get along with your dad?

i can see that hating either parent would fuck a person up, 7...
and yours must be a nasty-assed fuck if you've hated him this long... the best way out, you know, is to accept it, accept the fact that he's a fuck, and let him go... these are abstract concepts... acceptance and letting go

acceptance means that while you can't do anything to change him, it doesn't mean you can't change yourself...

you know, children see themselves as two halves

if it's at all possible to have compassion for the man who spawned you because he is lost, then you must strive for that as it will result in a growing compassion for yourself, which i think is necessary to traverse life's path...


letting go? hmmm... just trust in yourself that you are good and you don't need your father's love to affirm that...

I know exactly how you feel. My father is one mutha fuckin dick. I want mine dead. But since that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon, I just got a divorce from him. (yes it is possible)

Sorry Seven-when I lived at home with my parents-a very long time ago-I too hated my father. He was strict, used physical means for control and was just plain mean-and I couldn't wait to leave home. Now I am a parent of 4 sons. My Dad is almost 70 and we get along fine. It was a long hard road to get to this point, but I realized that he won't be here forever and I couldn't stand not feeling good about our relationship. I don't like his views or politics-so we don't go there-ever. But I have forgiven him because he was only doing what he learned as a child-it goes down with the generations-I am totally different with my sons-history won't repeat itself in my home! If your father is abusive-thats a whole different story-you need to get away from him as soon as you can, and you need someone to talk to. Don't let him destroy you. I wish you well.
