We all saw it coming, but kept it out of mind. A preacher stood outside an apartment building, just one day earlier, chanting the forecast into a megaphone. No one listened."Our self absorbed gluttony will weigh us down from heaven! The angels will drop us into a world that you can not fathom. Were we'll crawl like ants through burning coal, and swim in never ending fire for eternity!" In the end, the preacher died alone, praying that he was wrong.
A street sighn still marks the front yard you once layed on, but the house was burned away. A thousand bombs set the sky on fire in a single note that produced no echo, and sent it crashing down ontop of us. We are all helpless when the great sky is falling. The few that survive are left to drag there broken bodys to the curb, and smash there skull open on the blistering pavment. There is nothing left to live for.
And when it's all over, and the smoke clears, the earth will be saved from all life. She will breath a sigh of relief, having finally won her battle with the disease that had taken her over so much of her fragil skin. All will be, as it were. As it was ment to be. Just a big blue ball, floating around a dieing fire. She will enjoy her retirement.
