this was written by a wonderul man who is not longer with us. I met Harrison while working for an independent weekly in Indianapolis.

Saturday

I went to the mall today and saw a pretty little woman
With a perfect little family
There was a husband/dad in Saturday clothes
Booted and jeaned and parka'd
There was a boy, with pants too low
There was a girl, with skirt too high
And all of them carrying bags and coats
Walking through the mall

I looked again at the pretty little woman
And saw
That she was carring a secret
wrapped within herself

I looked at her face and saw she was
somewhere else, with herself
I looked at her face and knew she had been
Somewhere else, with someone else

Wednesday

I wondered about the pretty little woman today.
Had she been back to someone else?
Giving herself to someone else?
I think she has
