  • not a night goes by
    i don't dream of wandering
to a place that might have been
    i listened to my pride
when my heart cried out for you
    now everyday i wake again
to a house that might have been
    a home

Home has ever been a four letter word with no meaning to me. Homes have always turned me out into the streets or just kicked me along to another. Homes have housed other people who have done the same.

I'd give anything for a house.
I'm stepping in front of the gushing hydrant in a hurricane. I'd like to see the traction I keep.

if you don't mind the mess...there's one here with plenty of room for a second inhabitant ;)

    ....at thanksgiving
with the warm blanket of turkey in the air
a game on in another room
    ladies cooking and children laughing

next to the fire is a girl
she is warm and happy,,,,,, now
the holiday rush was all so much

    she is watching you
laughing with friends...from across the room.
    ,,,,,,happy at last
.....she sees your heart and knows you and she are one.

you don't even have to say a word about it...

WE have ALL made a connection with HIM

WE are all better people for it.

that feeling of home will never leave, no matter where we go, because where one goes, so goes the all.

  • home is on the inside
    in the heart
    it's where i live
    and i've very rarely
    turned the bolts
    or threw the sash
    to let you in
    cuz when you enter
    muddy boots
    and greasy jeans ensue
to mess up all the carpets
    and destroy my living room
my home is where i relax
    let go all my posturings
home is where you know me
come in gently, won't you please?

    yes.

as quiet as a mouse i am..yes...that's me!
  • ha...

that reminds me of something i wrote and have since lost

"i am woman, hear me squeak.."

kinda helen reddy-ish... if'n ya catch my drift

    (sorry fellas...)

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again
