This is a poem that was auctioned off during the YouthCare benefit in seattle. I bought it. I don't know much about the author except her name.

but it is so sweet and i imagine she was a young girl and i like the message so im putting it on here for her and for
us.

Shooting Star
by
Christiana Joy Jakeman

it is an answered prayer with a deeper meaning,
that light up in the black sky beaming.
and all wish to catch its magic within a jar,
because it is a shooting star.

people everywhere turn to it every single night,
calling to wish on their star light, star bright
wishing things were different than what they are,
waiting patiently for their shooting star.

downward it beams, shimmering a glint of
hope, for a way to deal and to cope.
they stare into the sky, black as tar,
waiting to wish on their shooting star.

as the light continues to dazzle in the dark
the beautiful wish star leaves its bright mark
and makes dreams come alive that were so far,
because that is my shooting star.

...the strangest thing. ....
i bid on this and never thought i got it. cause it never came in the mail....
........then one day a package arrived from Youthcare with this beautifully framed poem, just like a shooting star i never expected it,
come to find out i had only just forgot.
