Love Lost

You say, "'Tis better to have loved and lost..."
I ask you, fool, at what cost
Is that love? That which you speak?
Cause the love that I've lost has battered me weak
To my knees--Now please explain that?
I'm shakin right now as a matter of fact.
If love had eluded and left my ass blind,
I wouldn't fell filled up with hurt all the time.
You can only feel hunger if you've eaten before.
If you've never had money, can't feel quite so poor.
So having lost love, I can tell you my friend,
You'll never feel right if you can't hold her again.

    Having a bad day Ott?

When you meet that one, all this will make sense. Been there. Spent hours trying to make someone love me that couldn't. Then, meeting one who did, it was so easy. No wasted hours. Looking back, it was a real waste of time.

Actually, I'm just bored during lunch and felt like posting some old poems for a bit of feedback. Thanks for the encouragement, though. I am still trying to figure women out (like that'll ever happen). Always looking...

Just look and stop figuring. We can't even figure ourselves out.

"tis always better to have loved than not
for at least you know what love is
for some they are still searching
for love that never seems to come
they want know if love is Love
they want to know if Love is Real

Is it something to have and to hold
is it something to enjoy and behold
is it something that one day will grow cold
or is something that was made to share
and if that person you shared it with has move on

It's time to find another, to share a love song

your poetry is great well written and very true.

what happens to those who love someone who's loved by everyone else?

My god its been so long, never dreamed you'd return, but now here you are, and here i am.

Be happy in the crowd but don't think it's love.

Thanks ruud. Umm...get in line, I guess (in response to the query). "Waiting in Vain" Bob Marley.
