Cast Away

I wait for the rooster to rouse you from slumber.
Trying to break this trance that I'm under.
You're waving your wand, and casting your spell.
Heaven's holding that cloud, from which you first fell.
A gray day last fall, it started to pour;
It was raining angels; one fell at my door.
I closed my umbrella and soaked in the shower
And since that day in November, I've been under your powers.
The pocket watch swinging, my eyes, they roll back.
Before my heart knew, it was under attack.
Red rockets were glaring; the battle'd begun.
I had no idea; to lose could be fun.
Get lost in your eyeballs. Can swim in your smile.
I'll drown in your ocean, just drifting for miles.
Set sail for tomorrow, the past left behind,
So wave to the shoreline, let's see what we find.
Our journey's beginning; the course isn't set.
The wind fills our sails; be willing to bet
The gale force keeps howling, we'll travel the world.
Got lucky-my first mate is also my girl.
Magellan first did it-I'll follow his lead
Cause in you I've found all that I need.

Thanks!!! I have been bitten by the love poem bug lately. Trying to work on imagery. Compiling poems (calling em Psombs) for a potential book, but all I've written lately are love Psombs. I need to shake it and write some darker, or more brooding stuff, but thanks to a new, fabulous woman in my life, all I can get out are these sappy ones. Woe is me, I know. :)
