Life on the road

Preamble

Written recently for a friend's birthday. He's the manager of my other friend who posts here occasionally, and when we were in Toronto in 2002, we went for a post-gig walk.

---

through a maze of arteries
in search of sustenance and harmony
Our footsteps echoed our thoughts in back alleys
As we passed them by
Exhaustion trodden on
the pavement by our jaded feet
in accordance with what we speak
Imprinting tattoos of our experience
on top of those left
by thousands,
millions, before us
On the Toronto sidewalks.

Thanks. :) I used to write all the time, but now I'm lucky if I can squeeze even one thing out per year (that's actually somewhat decent.)
