a plane ride

fuck. just got my flight number; flight 193. i am going to die.

why am i on a flight that has such a catchy ring to it? plane crashes always have these. I hear it on all the news channels now, "The crash of flight 193".

as i travel the Jetson belts of the terminal to get a soda, all i think about is my death. and i don't care.

i'm on the plane looking out the window. i watch the cars on the highway. a scene I know well from the other view. when i was a kid, and would sit in the back of my parent's car, driving past the airport, i always secretly hoped for a plane to crash. i don't want anyone to die, but if they're going to anyway, i have bragging rights to say i witnessed it.

i watch the cars, wondering how many kids are now hoping for my plane to crash.

so what if i die? will anyone really care? will the news do an in-depth story on my life? no. i will just be a number in the death count. My plane number will be more famous then me. flight 193.

the engines start and the plane is picking up speed. No crash, i fly safely to my destination.
