Spider Dreams

Does anyone else have dreams that spiders are all over them

-biting, crawling, scratching, hatching, tickling, licking-

and you wake up pawing and clawing at the phantom spiders and their phantom webs that seconds before were spooled around you and you run and dive into the bathtub and turn the water on full blast because you're sure the spiders are still on you and then you realize it was only a dream but you decide to sleep in the bathtub anyway just in case they come back?

  • No, but I do have recurring nightmares I am losing my teeth... bloody gums and all. I have read it has to do with feeling "one is losing control of one's life." Control freak that I am.
  • No, but recently a friend told me he was having similar dreams where he thought bugs were crawling on him. He didn't run into the bathtub though.
"The sun is shining, but not for me."
  • I've had the bug dreams, too.

Never had dreams about teeth falling out, though. If that happened, you wouldn't be able to bite into a juicy, thick, succulent, T-bone steak (insert Homer Simpson's drool here).

Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
  • well thank god i'm a doctor
    well here's the thing
spiders cannot scare us as really big animals
with larger teeth than spiders but
they can shock us into thinking we
    are afraid of them
kind of like snakes but i think
in my situation snakes are a little more
    scary
especially when they grow to be the size
    of texas
    hahahahahahahahh!

i only have dreams that are disjointed and jolly, but Jules Verne is always in my dreams, he sits in a corner and weaves a spider web on a loom.
  • I also remember reading somewhere that the average adult eats around a hundred spiders a year while they're sleeping. Evidently the really iddy biddy ones just mosey into your mouth while you sleep. If they can get into your mouth, imagine what other orifices they might want to explore.

    I am never sleeping again.
  • Never heard of eating spiders, but have read that Spiders in dreams have something to do with mothers:)
    Good luck sleeping...
  • The very first thing I posted in our hut.

And I had the spider dream two nights ago, too.
  • I save spiders! They eat the other icky bugs that I don't like! They spin them up in their web, get their fangs in and suck 'em dry--fascinating creatures!

I fear earwigs, millipedes & centipedes and hate to wake to the thought of millions of tiny crawly legs all over me!!!!! YUCK! And earwigs--EARwigs, well, if one ever got in my ear, I think I may just die! One got in my bathing suit once and it pinched me---I screamed and ran in the house and stripped and screamed and showered and shivered and I never want to touch one again!

    God, I envy that.

Have you seen Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
    In the secret passage cave.
    With all the crawlies.

They only come out when you're sleeping

    or dying

I was brave enough to see Eight Legged Freaks.
Mistake because I didn't sleep for weeks.

    hehehe. rhyme.

And Shelob from Return of the King........
    Oh, God.
    Dear God.

Yes, I saw the Temple of Doom - just bloody nasty! Let's not go there!

I never saw the other 2 flicks though but I have a friend who is deathly afraid of spiders who ever so stupidly saw Eight Legged Freaks, she said it haunted her dreams for weeks. I still don't know if she's really recovered!

cuz i freak about spiders IN the bath tub
    seems
they love to surprise in the middle of the night
    and
i sometimes want to kill them
    but
once my aunt told me something really traumatic
when i was young...i had caught a brown spider
and quick--flushed it down the toilet
    she
saw me do it and said that
all the spider relatives see what you do
and will come back for you

wow that's messed up huh, cuz i still think of that
    and can't kill a spider

but she was a trip, and made halloween/friday13ths
maybe that's why you dream them, all that creepyousity...
  • sip a spider through a straw
and spit it at your mom in law
    spigots spitting spiders splice
    tattered grace with wretched fright
and what a pretty pretty sight
my mirror in me not so nice
