Eye's looked upon me the day I was born
A joyful story a million million times told
Hands welcomed me fingers tracing my lips
The scent of me breathed deep
Much much deeper than the pain relief
Watched with such affection
My presense catching emotion in throats
Hearts skipping beats at the mere thought
Of me
Am I the only one in the world?
Childhood ripening me for a bitter world
Nights spent sleepless visions tearing awake
Unbearable imaginings wont really seal my fate
Every exertion, dig deep in the soil
My father's sweat drops with a splash
In the dry earth for me
My smile is worth every aching muscle
First words uttered make no sense
Except to the screaming and weeping
Hearts of those who brought be here
Speaking a language only they can hear
Their pride is unique and shared with billions
The sea's stretching between the shores
Bridge a gap indescribable
For I am everyone's child
Unbearable imaginings of dreams
Unstoppable train of fear ploughs
through the sanity of every parent
but then out of the sky came not my saviour
not the reality of my fathers hopes
out of the sky came my fate indeed
and ripped from me not only them
but my means to scratch at the earth
and turn the soil
no tear to drop to the dry dirt
of the place where my parents
nightmare followed them home...
I am the only one in the world..
