There's a little something in this
Old trusted instinct questioned
Creeps up the back of the spine
Settles itself in the gut......feeling
On a path well trodden
It seems littered with the memories
Of where they were always gonna go
Diverted here and there
And everywhere
If you look closely
You can see the tread of thier shoes
Returning
Slow the pace and turn around
Watch you in the distance
Catch up to me and take.....my hand
Whatever else you need
From me
Each step from there
As mysterious as you are to me
Perhaps some day
We'll see the moon together........

    i really like the last two lines, how it reminds me of moon viewing which is an image in many centuries old haiku. it's calming.
