I can't Sleep

as I have without
thinking or doing
just being in your
arms and thoughts
when you drift off
outside my grasp
I feel your breath
and your chest
I sleep next to us
but I haven't in
some time, as you
may have noticed
without a word
i've said I love you
and I've meant it
'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
god I'm very, very frightening
and I'll overdo it'
