"Just Jump" -- Keith Sherburn

Maybe we can sit and talk later,
when the gravity's sustained
and the world isn't spinning before us.
I'll say, "One day, I heard you only
truly feel the world when you're dizzy,"
and it will make me wonder
what kind of Hell we're missing.

You'll say that the only thing
I'm missing is the sunset, but
I won't redirect my pupils;
your irises contain the greatest
sunburst we'll find this evening.
The flames from the bonfire will
try to steal the moisture
from your lips, but I will get there first.

And we'll hop to a supernova
resting in full bloom, waiting
for the winter so it can collapse,
upon itself, into an abyss.
The snows will come, after the
early-morning frost, and this
blind eye will tear us apart...
but we won't feel a thing.

We'll sleep in our delusion,
full of ignorance and liquors,
and awaken with rain
tapping on our feet.
Hey, maybe then we can
just sit and talk.
Oh, forget about it;
we don't need to make plans...
let's just...jump.

    I enjoyed this. And it even reminded me of Dudley Moore's legendary song, "Jump", too.
