this is a poem i wrote the other day for a poetry class, remembering last summer and wishing this summer was here:

going to kahneetah,
4 friends in a car
a hot july day,
good day to go far

looking for 7-11
as if it were the holy grail
a big bite and extreme gulp
is what this search entails

soon enough we find these things,
but also find we're lost
who cares? we say, we have 3 days.
and gas? we'll split the cost.

with led zeppelin on the stereo,
and no worries to be seen,
we're invincible, we're young,
the epitome of free.

it doesn't matter where we go.
if we want to, we'll have fun.
it doesn't matter where we go.
if we go, we'll find the sun.
knowledge is a tree
it's growing up just like me.
