Let the red burn down its thread
as it shows its last light.
It was given, now it's gotten
on to be the night.
I giggle to myself like I used to when I was young.
I'm so happy to be here and right now a witness--
I saw the sun!
It doesnt hurt.... when I bleed
but memories...they eat me
I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.

    plus you saw the sun

    the last moment of the day before the night came on.

    a great little poem for that last great little moment of a day.

    I think "poem of the day" is actually a very fitting, appropriate perfect title!
