freedom poem

I enjoy the freedom of my own place,
Pretty with flowing trees.
I sit and stare up in space,
This is the place to be.

No engine noise, no kids that play,
An easy life to pass my day.
Just natures noise and the spatter of rain,
Gently tapping on my garden drain.

A log fire crackles glowing red,
My cat purrs content asleep.
I start to read in the warmth of my bed,
As the shadows begin to creep.
It doesnt hurt.... when I bleed
but memories...they eat me
I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.
