Jeremy was number 11. Edwin McCain said "that band is just badass". And Chris Booker, former MTV veejay, said that he still catches as many shows as he can when they come around and noted that they are "an amazing band".

U2 is on that list.....I have sent an email to VH1 asking them to be removed....I truly hate them.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

I haven't seen the VH1 show, but I wish PJ had made so many more videos... Songs like "Release", "Elderly Woman...", "Indifference"... These and so many others scream for a video. If that was the case, a couple more probably would have made that list.

Oops. I must have been misinformed. I thought it was new. I agree with your opinion on Teen Spirit, though.

I watched some of that. It was bogus. Not one band had 2 songs in the Top 100. It was more like the 100 greatest bands, and their most overplayed song

I thought I was the only one that thought U2 was garbage.

On the 100... there was only one video per band. I thought that was stupid.

i wonder that if jeremy didnt have such an intense/memorable video, would the song still be considered as great as it is? dont get me wrong, i love the song, but alive, even flow, and black are just as great.

when PJ opened for them i was thinking "shouldn't this be the other way around?"

U2's first album was ok but i never understood the hype

MTV and VH1 are still so focused on Ten it seems because they think thats the only Pearl Jam album people know, while there are millions of PJ fans that have all their albums, go to as many shows of theirs they can, and can rattle of lyrics from each one of their albums. While Ten is a great album, its not their only one, and it would be nice for people to realize that, and listen to their other stuff.

Well, in order for a song to be considered "great" it has to have a catchy video to go along with it. It is inconceivable that the music be aloud to speak for itself. And of course how else can VH1 include a song in the count down if there is no video. Sort of one of those rock and a hard place scenarios. We, as PJ fans, will just have to be satisfied with the knowledge that great music was and is still being made without the aide of MTV.

And I agree, Teen Spirit is NOT #1 and Bono bothers me!

many songs do scream for a video....but Release, Small Town and Indifference arent any of them

You are partially right with that comment. It more seemed like 100 greatest bands, and their most overplayed song THAT HAD A MUSIC VIDEO. Even with Vh1's top hard rock songs, there were only a handful of songs that didn't have a music video (Even Flow being one of them), but it Vh1 can't do these shows without having noticeable music video's representing the songs.
