Doing the weekly tradition
Putting on my angel face
Peace be with you
…Until we get outside

the poor are with us
not because they are blessed
but to make us feel good about ourselves
otherwise we would be living among them

look at the children waiting for salvation
this one sells drugs
this one cheats on his wife
this one beats his wife
but they all kneel down
waiting for their savior to come
to save them from the demons which they spawned

Why are some chosen?
While others are left behind
To toil through the dirt
To prepare for the kingdom to come
While others take all their fruit
Self-preservation is the only way to salvation
