Awaiting Life in a Greek Lobby

Across a luminous pillar of light, they appeared before us. Future lives of every condition, human and animal, infinitely surrounded us in such a magnificent way that no words could express the phenomenal sight-- unmeasurable to any marvel or spectacle on earth. In our astonishment, we watched as the gods endowed each of us a life with a soul and spirit, separate yet equal from all the rest.

The gods appeared before me, and I willingly breathed in the vital flame which they had chosen as my existence on earth. A myriad array of visions danced across subconscious walls and told the story of my life to come.

The events flew by one after the other like a movie in fast forward motion, until the story finally reached its end.

As if awakening from an immaculate dream, I found myself among an endless number of souls once again. I drank from the waters of the River of Forgetfulness and was soon swallowed in slumber.......... so that I would awaken in birth to a life undiscovered.
