Panic

I fell off a pier and into the blue
Blue water dreaming, I sunk but I knew
The warm water feeling would help pull me through
I didn’t panic; I just opened and flew

My eyes broke the surface, as reluctant as I was
So comfortable, content, and at peace with my trust
It was only on the surface, after breaking for air
Did I feel the pressure, and expectations we wear

The struggle began to get back to the pier
With our boat set to leave, would time disappear?
Not un-like a movie, with a run and a jump
I took flight, made the boat, set sail…but for what?

On this boat with some friends, and these stories to tell
Life and its struggles, it’s best you do well
Try not to panic, you’ll make it, I did
Just trust in yourself, and in all found within
