Cutting Down Trees With Machines

Once lived a field of trees
So tightly knit they protected eachother
By arranging their branches to form a shield.

The land provided them with nutrients
The trees were pleased to give oxygen
All was at ease.

And then came the machines.

Roaring like lions
Sawing like fidlers.

The clouds rained on these beasts
The sun soaked their steel
And a mighty wind blew
In hope of helping the trees.

The trees formed a branch shield
Their leaves shaking like a crack fiend
Their roots clawing the earth.

But the machines were too sharp
Too efficient
Too mean.

With man on the earth
What hope for the trees?

thanks for reading!

i love trees and the woods and the forests and the green of summer..

yet the wars of men take hold and there is no news of paradise.

i know what i like and it is the cool breeze amidst the trees..

we need to check it out before it's gone..

i'm gonna talk to the ents. they will know what to do.
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

I wish both of you lived here! :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

I love the Lorax who spoke for the trees. This poem reminds me of the Lorax.

Makes ya wanna cry, don't it? There are many days when I wish I lived among the trees and not among men and their death machines.

This is a great poem...it is sad about the trees. The forest is one of my favorite places and I love trees...good read. :)
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!
