Extinction

The township sleeps in silhouette
Bay waves rush the shore and retreat
To timid to take onto land.

Thinning smoke floats from silent chimneys.
The ghostly forms dissipate into darkness,
Drawn by the night.

Night birds take flight
Caught in the corner of my eye.

Are you awake at 3am
When you should be asleep?

Wondering how
All worldly things came to be?

Tearful at the beauty
And angy at us.

What have we done?

There's no more balance for everyone.

The background noise begins to pick up.
Birds shake from trees
Dogs wake and bark.

Buildings slowly reveal their bricks.
A new day's sun upon us...

This is very good. I feel that way too. Good read.
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!
  • most excellent
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
